Configuring IIS for LDAP Authentication

7 New Member
Is it possible to configure an IIS to do both LDAP authentication and Windows authentication?
For ex: Suppose one application of server A is hosted in IIS. The requests come from two different intranet users( let it B and C). B is using windows Operating system and the IIS of server A is configured to do Windows authentication for B users. Likewise we need to make the IIS of server A to authenticate intranet C users. C is using Unix OS , novell netware and LDAP is installed in their machine. Now we have to do LDAP authentication for C users with IIS.
Please suggest some solutions for this.

Hi folks, I've been searching for a while and haven't found my specific question anywhere else. If this has already been asked, please accept my appologies and point me to the appropriate thread. I'm bidding on a PHP intranet development contract. One of the specific requirements is that the app interface with the company's existing Open LDAP server for user authentication.

Good Day Folks, I'm still trying to write a class to do LDAP searches on a Novell eDirectory. I've yet to see anything that even compiles, this includes samples from MSDN. Amazing. I appreciate the help I'm getting from individuals, but it would be nice if someone from Microsoft helped also. It is after all their product. Anyways, below is the class, ASPX file, and the compiler error message.

I am considering a large project and they currently use LDAP on MS platform. It would be moved to a LAMP platform. OpenLDAP is an option though I have not used it before. I do feel fairly confortable with my ability to use SESSIONS for authentication and access control. Would it better to learn and use LDAP or can you REALLY have just as secure authentication and access control using Sessions? Thanks for your thoughts and experience.

I have DB2 V8.2 loaded on a Redhat Enterprise Linux version 3 (RHEL 3) box. RHEL is configured to talk to LDAP for authenticaton besides the local passwd file. I can verify this by executing an su to a User Id that exists in LDAP and not in the local /etc/passwd file. Also verified that the connection to LDAP is working by ssh into the box. The problem I have is when I try to connect to a local DB2 Database using a User Id and Password...

Hello, I'm using IIS 5 and PHP 4.3.5. I have an html page, page1, that resides at member.company.com server. It contains a form asking a user to login. I then check the login by connecting to LDAP.company.com and bind the provided username and password to the LDAP server. if the user is authenticated by LDAP then i direct users to a second page, page 2. On page 2, i have a link to a file that resides in a protected virtual directory....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
