'Now you see me' DOM problem

Hi All

Yes it's the IE waif again.

As per my previous post I want to put across my quandary in as clearer
format as I can so in a nutshell I have a graphic that acts as a link so
that when you click on this link in one FRAME it makes a graphic and a
dropdown menu visible (by default they are invisible), which are in another
FRAME and also displays a specific page in another FRAME.

To give you an idea of what I mean, please visit www.bardwells.co.uk and try
to click the anim gif link that is titled 'product lists'. In Safari,
Mozilla, etc browsers you will probably find that nothing happens, but in IE
you would see a graphic and dropdown menu appear at the top-right of the
page and also a new page would appear in the larger frame of the site.

Could somebody post me an example of how they would get this to work in
Mozilla, Safari, etc.

Thanks

Robbie

Hi,

May I suggest you to make sure that the first image of your GIF anim
actually shows some useful text, like "Product lists". I disabled gif
animations[1] and had to guess and click on a solid rectangular blue box,
although it was supposed to be the most important item in your list.

[1] My estimates are: 90 % of all GIF anims are blinking commercials and 90 %
of the remainder are useless dancing things.

I works in Opera 7.54 too. ("Of course", nothing works if javascript is
disabled). And I am new here, but I think the sentence "This site is best
viewed with the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer" is not the
kind of things gurus around here are happy to read (it seems to mean "The
author was lazy and only tested this site with his own browser").

Cheers,

You have a javascript error:
Error: parent.title.document.winloc has no properties
Source File: http://www.bardwells.co.uk/chooser.html
Line: 49

just after you have loaded the page, but before you hit product lists,
type javascript: into the location bar. This will open the
javascript console and show you the error(s)

MSIE tends to ignore js errors, mozilla just ignores the script.
