Recommendation needed for javascript newgroup

I want to build a <shudder>pop-up</shudder> that only pops up when a deep
link referral comes to visit. I have some deep links from other sites to a
juggling simulator on my site (www.wejuggle2.com/jugglemasterjava.html). I
do not want to use cookies. I am not really wanting to block/impede the
visitors - I just want credit for hosting/maintaining the (very good)
learning tool.

I have looked at several js newsgroups, searched google ("deep link"
javascript pop-up) and to date have not found anything of use to me.

TIA

I'm not sure I understand. Are these sites linking to a java applet on
your site? If so, why don't you ask them to stop doing that, to link
to the html page instead? If they refuse, start redirecting according
to the referer header (but do it correctly so your own page does not
break).

Have you considered making a Java
based Screensaver of the juggler?

I think you meant to say "comp.lang.javascript"

<blush>This is a case of not being able to see the forest for the trees. To
accomplish my intent, all I have to do is redesign the page [doh].</blush>
The links are to the html page not the java applet.

I wanted (I guess) an excuse to dabble with javascript and will now go lurk.
Thanks

No thanks - it does look like a fun exercise but my screen saver is
hibernation - not that I am <g>cheap</g> you understand?

Perhaps the simplest method is to have, on each page, an identifying top
and tail, including links towards your home or root page.

That could be combined, optionally, with a policy of systematically
modifying the names of anchors from time to time, so that a link to
yourpage.htm#QQxx12 would lead a reader, after you had changed xx to xy
with a programmed editor, to the head of the page.
