floating box height stretched regarding another float

P: n/a
Hi there,

I'm trying to create two "columns" with the same height, depending on the
higher column content.

here is the website : http://ftp.antipolis.fr/devnet.fr
and the css file : http://ftp.antipolis.fr/devnet.fr/devnet.css

I would like both columns "#leftbar" and ".content" (these names match the
css id and class) having the same height, whatever each of them have the
bigger content.

imagine ".content" contains an single line, its height would have to be
the same as "#leftbar"'s height - and conversely if ".content" is the
highest column.

here is what it must *not* show :
__________________
| _______ _______ |
|| || ||
|| ||content||
||leftbar||(float)||
||(float)||_______||
|| | |
||_______| |
|__________________|

I've found on the web the following pages, which succeeded in doing this :
http://www.fellponies.com/
http://positioniseverything.net/orde...rs-center.html
however I couldn't understand how it works, and why this doesn't work on
my website.

I hope my source code will be clear enough for you, please help me to find
were is my mistake.

(sorry for my poor english...)
