Background images and Firebird

Hi all,

I have a style sheet with the following:

..virtual {
background: transparent url(images/tbl-back.gif);

}

The image renders fine in IE, however Mozilla nor Firebird see the
image. Can someone point me in the right direction??

TIA

There's nothing obviously wrong as far as I can see. The problem is
probably located elsewhere, perhaps a mistake earlier in the CSS, in the
HTML, or in the HTTP headers sent by your server.

If you provide a URL to a testcase it will help in tracking down the
problem. You might also be able to find the problem by validating your
HTML and CSS:

<URL:http://validator.w3.org/>
<URL:http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/>

Maybe a browser bug makes "transparent" overide the image.

Is "transparent" really useful in your stylesheet anyway ?

Thanks, it was a problem early in the CSS. Somehow two classes became
one big one.

Hmm. I just tried a similar technique and it works for me.
Incidentally, something that doesn't work in Firebird but does work in
IE (for me) is:

body
{
background-image : url("files\bg.gif");
}

My solution was:

body
{
background-image : url("files/bg.gif");
}
