First Go at Positioning

In IE, the background in the third column begins to repeat over on the
right. This doesn't occur in NS, but the right side of the other boxes is
chopped off. Opera doesn't have either problem. I don't see any difference
in the column and box definitions, other than the size, so I don't see why
the inconsistency in rendering (between boxes/columns - I understand about
different rendering between browsers).

I've done some basic stuff with CSS, but this is my first endeavor with
positioning. Can anyone see what the problem is and/or recommend a better
way to do what I'm trying to accomplish?
