Hi,
I'm trying to format a TABLE with several other tables inside. I want the
topmost TD-levels (not the lower nested ones) to have a specific style, but
without classing them individually, just by defining a class for the table.
My code so far goes like this:
#va-main-table {
border-collapse: separate;
border-spacing: 10px;
}
#va-main-table tbody > tr > td {
border-style: solid;
border-width: 1px;
border-color: black;
}
Example here: http://folk.uio.no/thomasd/test/test1.html
.... however, I can't use this solution as it does not work on IE. My
alternate solution that _does_ work on IE:
#va-main-table {
border-collapse: separate;
border-spacing: 10px;
}
#va-main-table td {
border-style: solid;
border-width: 1px;
border-color: black;
}
#va-main-table tr td * td {
border: none;
}
Example here. http://folk.uio.no/thomasd/test/test2.html
.... is not satisfactory, becaus any padding or other setting I choose to
add to the TD will be inherited to all lower level TD's unless it is
specifically turned off.
Can anyone help me out on this one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
best regards,
Thomas
