multiple requests in log for background-images

Els
When I look in my logs, usually all looks fine, but
sometimes, a visitor seems to ask for the same image several
times within a few seconds. I'm sure they don't press
'refresh' all the time, as the html or css isn't requested
again.
Here's an example:

It even happened once when I had been browsing my site
myself, but nothing strange occurred to me while I was browsing.

Can anyone tell me what makes this happen?

My guess is that the user is resizing the window, although that's not
what you'd expect a browser to do.

Rationale:

MSIE 6.0: not a real browser.

Timing: the second request for spring2.jpg is "some time" after
the first.

Context: the image in question is a background to a <div> element,
which resizes with the page.

Do I get a prize?
