site review

Just curious what the group thinks of this recently redesigned site:

http://www.laserquest.com/

(Old version is available via archive.org, may be missing some images)

Didn't bother looking much. After long delay of showing nothing
(Flash?), my speakers then began playing some "music?" that I did not
ask to listen to. I hit my home button to shut the damn stuff off.

Flash is not necessary. Are you making a TV commercial? If so, put it
on TV, not the web. Java, javascript, or anything using plug ins will
make me leave your site fast. Music? I most likely don't like what you
listen to so why inflict your choice on me. Get rid of the garbage, ask
again, and I might give you an opinion on the html if you decide to use
some.

When I'm on a page, and I click the sound button to stop the
sound, please have it stay off when I move to another page?
Now I have to click that button on every single page.

Great advice. But just for the record this wasn't my site, I just
thought I'd see what the group thought. If you really want this to get
to the site maintainer, try the webmaster role address for the domain.

Pretty bad, indeed.
