animated gif help

P: n/a
hi-

my gifs arent acting animated. i have the site at tripod host.
here is a short example of the code that may or may not cause the problem.

in my index.htm file
<p>Choose your table from the drop down to populate the available fields
listbox.
<img src = "http://j_m_mc.tripod.com/images/zenfontan.gif" width = "85"
height = "50" align="right" /> </p>
in my cascading style sheet css file
body {background-image:url(http://j_m_mc.tripod.com/images/bg_brick2.bmp);
any help is greatly appreciated as this download site will get listed on my
resume for a position i am applying for.
the program to download is what i wish to show the employer but it would be
nice to have the animation working
even though i am not trying to demonstrate my xhtml skills. the web page is
very lame by todays standards and
was hand coded.

thanks
marvin

"Sorry, but the page or the file that you're looking for is not here."

Have you actually uploaded the image?

It is generally much easier if you post the URL of the page in question,
not just snippets of code that may have nothing to do with the problem.

The URL (address) of a sample document would have been more useful. I'm
assuming it's http://j_m_mc.tripod.com/

The animation works for me, once I turn GIF animation back on. Do you have
it turned on in your browser?

BTW, you shouldn't use BMP format images on the WWW. The format is bloated,
and poorly supported on non-Microsoft platforms. GIF or PNG would be
better.

thanks Darin and Mark for looking.

once you said it was working that enabled me to start checking out what was
wrong with my settings.
i went to the image when it was displayed in my browser. i right clicked
and and from the pop up menu
clicked show original image. You see... i have everything on this machine
to screw it up.
i have a pop up blocker, accelerator, firewall etc. something must be
interfering with it.
hey... as long as i know it is working.

i will try to convert the bmp file to png or gif.

thanks very much!
