Hiding URLs

Hello,

for applying via email I want to put my application folder online.

But because I am disabled I am afraid of beeing phoned or mailed by
weird nazis.

Is it safe (at least for some month) to put an empty index.htm online
and also an appropriate robots.txt and naming the application page
something like adfdkjfkdsjf.htm? Or can anyone see my data anyway?

Thank you

stick it a password protected directory. issue user/passwords as
required.

password type scripts:

http://www.hotscripts.com/Perl/Scrip...rd_Protection/
http://www.hotscripts.com/ASP/Script...uthentication/

"manual" type of password setups using apache:

Using User Authentication

DBM User Authentication
http://www.apacheweek.com/features/dbmauth

Authentication, Authorization, and Access Control
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/howto/auth.html

..htaccess tutes

http://lightsphere.com/dev/htpass.html
http://www.pagematic.com/faq/htaccess.htm

http://htmlgoodies.earthweb.com/tuto...sword/pw2.html
http://help.powweb.com/tutorials/hta...assprotect.php

also check with your host, they may already have scripts ready to
setup or simple controls to setup password protected directories.
But because I am disabled I am afraid of beeing phoned or mailed by
weird nazis.
i live in hope of being contacted by anyone weird.

no. security by obfuscation isn't. especially when you have a plain
text file (robots.txt) that is accessible to anyone pointing straight
at the file you want limited access to.
