Related subjects have been discussed at length on these forums, I'm
hoping for a quick and dirty, one-time solution to my specific
problem:
Have created a web site that I want to distribute on Windows-created
CDs. Just HTML and referenced files, e.g. images, no executable. Users
can BYOB (bring your own browser). Limited testing is fine on Windows.
Mac results are all over the place, one user with OS 9.1 does fine,
earlier versions can open most individual files but not navigate.
I understand that there are a number of factors in play on the Mac
side, e.g. extensions to handle ISO 9660 Level 2. My file names are
not Level-1 compliant. Question is, is there a "lowest common
denominator" solution that will give good assurance of portability to
all Mac systems? Would creating a hybrid CD solve the problem, or is
that only necessary where both Mac and PC executables are required?
This is my first brush with Windows/Mac CD portability, so
understanding of the issues is pretty limited.
Hoping someone has a silver bullet. Thanks for any and all help.
