MS FrontPage Extensions???

SD
I've just been appointed to update a company site and discovered it has
FrontPage Extensions. This could be a problem as I have no knowledge of the
extensions.

What are they?
How do they work?

One of the pages has a form. The submit works and sends the info but
following the submit an error is displayed and exits at this point. The
address of this page is http://www.adc-qc.com/contact.htm, if anyone could
help me with any suggestions it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Front Page Extensions is a synonim of WebDAV.

Briefly: WebDAV stands for "Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning".
It is a set of extensions to the HTTP protocol which allows users to
collaboratively edit and manage files on remote web servers.

As I understand it, this isn't true. FPSE is bodged together with GETs,
POSTs and funny _vti_* directories. WebDAV, on the other hand, uses new
HTTP methods like COPY, MOVE, etc, that were created especially. WebDAV
has been formalised as an extension to HTTP in RFC 2518 [1], whereas FPSE
is only available as a closed-source, dodgy-looking (requires root!) Apache
module, or at least it did last time I checked. Or of course, you could
just use IIS :)
