How to accept payments using Paypals

I'm trying to get my web site set up to accept orders for my new book.

I want my users to be able to do it in any one of 3 ways:

Paypals
Credit Card
Fill out a form and send me a check

When I go to Paypals, it says I can use it for the first 2 options. I
have selected a button, and pasted the code into my web page. The
button doesn't look anything like the button I selected. When I click
on the button, it goes to the Paypals site, and starts processing my
purchase.

How will this work? Will it give the user the option of using a
credit card rather than his Paypal account?

How do I obtain the buyer's address, to send him the book? Is this
information requested by Paypal, then emailed to me?

For the third option, I'm going to just direct the user to a form
which can be filled out and printed. This is for people who don't
want to use a credit card of Paypals, and just want to send me a
check. Of course in that case, they'll have to wait 'til their check
clears to get the book.

Thanks. --Matt

PayPal takes credit cards or deducts money from his account if the
customer has one with a balance.

PayPal notifies you by email of each purchase. Their message contains
the customer's name, snail mail address and email address.

You can't accept credit cards directly over your web site just by using PayPal - you need a credit card merchant account and payment gateway for that. But people with PayPal accounts can send you money using their credit cards.

I sell my products primarily via PayPal, but have been getting requests for other options, so I just added a printable form for that purpose today - check it out if it might give you inspiration:

http://www.webdevbiz.com/tools.cfm - and click "Order by Fax or Phone"

But I have a merchant account which I use for my local business, and I can process their credit cards that way. If you don't, you could just offer to accept checks or money orders.

Hope that helps.
