I'm trying to be "smart" about constructing web pages with common
elements. Since I don't have control over the server, and would
prefer not to use scripts to construct pages, I have tried OBJECT.
However, it does behave in (to me) non-obvious ways. (In case it's a
browser thing: I'm using Netscape 7.02 under OS X 10.2.6.)
In one instance I use an included HTML file as a navigation bar, with
the intention that I get a new page when I click on any of the links
in it; however, what I get is the linked page opened inside a frame,
taking up the position of the OBJECT. What am I supposed to do to
get the entire page replaced, as intended?
In another instance, I'm trying to include a script-generated web
page from an external site into one of may page, but this fails
somehow and I just get the contents (error message) of the OBJECT
rendered. Is there any way of finding out exactly *why* the
inclusion failed?
