IE8 randomly ignores margins

I have a content dividing div that is defined as follows:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. .contentbr { width: 920px; margin: 37px auto 41px; border-bottom: 1px solid #D3D3D3; }
  2.
IE8 displays it correctly 9/10 times. But, every 1/10 times or so, it ignores the top and bottom margins. If I go into developer tools and turn ANY css on/off, it seems to correct it and see the margins.

I'm stumped.
