How to refresh only a portion of a web page

Currently I am using "refresh" in HTML code to refresh a page, I need to refresh only readings on the page, but whole page gets upload every 3 seconds (header logo, footer logo), that gives little lousy look, how can I update only readings on the page?. my page look like this: I need to update those voltage and current (only values - but whole page gets updated - gives ugly look when whole page updates), thanks in advance.

[HEADER]

CURRENT and VOLTAGE readings

Current of first board: 12.0

volatge: 90

You could use an iframe and then reload only the iframe.

Insert the iframe poiting to another page where you have the content that needs to be updated.
This last page should have the refresh code.

Tell me if you need more help.
