SSI in HTML is not including all of the code. Can anyone help?

Hello,

I'm currently making changes to a website, but I'm having some really weird issues with my includes.

To make my code simpler, one of my includes has the following code:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.
  2.                         <td valign="top" bgcolor="#c6e8d8">    <!-- Main Body -->
  3.                             <table width="670" border="0" cellpadding="20" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#c6e8d8">    <!-- Main Text Area -->
  4.                                 <tr>
  5.                                     <td>
  6.
  7.
It leaves out the <td>. Does anyone know why?

The missing tag ruins the alignment in IE, as well as makes all of the text bold. This is driving me nuts!
