I have created a newsletter (HTML) in Dreamweaver (CS3) with an index and their respective anchors. The file is stored on our server. The bookmarks work correctly in the various browsers; however, we run into a problem when the document is sent as an email, in which case, clicking on an index items in an email, opens the default browser, and loads the page at the referenced article.
The only exception occurs when the email recipient is receiving their emails through MSN, in which case the index works correctly, dropping down to the reference article in the email.
The index link has been changed from "http://www.euuc.org/events/weeklyannouncements.html#Fall2010photodirectory" to "x-msg://54/#Fall2010photodirectory". Each time I activate that link the number 54 changes. For example, "x-msg://12/#Fall2010photodirectory"
I am relatively a newbie, and no nothing about the coding or what is going on and would appreciate a simple explanation.
Is there a boiler plate code (snippet, CSS) that needs to be added to my HTML file so that it will work on the web and in an email without opening a web browser?
Thanks
