Google map iframe not working in Firefox 3.x

Hey everybody.

I was unsure as to where I should post this, but in the end I though the HTML experts most likely to be aware of browser eccentricities :)

Anyhow, I have a page that has a Google Maps iframe window (see it here), showing a map of a specific area.
I didn't go into the whole Google Maps API, I just copied the embed iframe from the Google Maps page and posted that into my markup. (Well, technically my JavaScript does that, but that's not important.)

This works fine, shows my map with all the markers and it's movable and all.
Except it doesn't work in Firefox 3. I've tested Firefox 3.0.11 and the latest pre-release version of 3.5.
All versions of IE, Firefox 2, Opera, Chrome (obviously) work fine.

Anybody know what's going on?
And more importantly, does anybody know a way around this?

I've considered looking into the Google Maps API for a fix, but I'm hoping that won't be necessary.

Thanks,
- Atli

Ok, thanks for that.

It seems like there was some sort of version collision, possibly due to some addons or something.

I had both versions installed, side by side. Both seemed to work fine, except for the problem I described.

I uninstalled 3.5. The problem was still present in 3.0.11.
I uninstalled 3.0.11, and then re-installed it.
Now 3.0.11 works fine. Loads the map up perfectly.

I then remove 3.0.11 and install 3.5rc2.
Now it also works fine there.

I then install 3.0.11 again along side 3.5rc2... and now it works in BOTH of them.

Seems this was just some problem with my setup, probably something to do with a shared component or an addon that got corrupt or something.

In any case, thanks for checking this doc.
I should have known better then to utter the words "not working in Firefox" :)

Ok... after further testing.

Its seems the MozBackup program I used to keep my bookmarks and stuff was causing this.

Every time I restored a backup, the Google Maps iframe stopped working.

Kind of weird... but at least this means it was in no way Firefox's fault :D

I just have to wonder how many other seemingly random things this thing was breaking without my knowing about it :-/

You have to keep a different profile if you are going to use the betas because they may write things differently. Setting up a new one is easy but I've forgotten how.

Profiles you say... I knew Firefox had those, but I've never looked much into it.
Maybe it's time to do that.

In any case, I'm just going to stay away from MozBackup for now, and just use one version of Firefox at a time.

I got a VirtualBox XP setup for browser testing anyways :)
