My cell stretches and ruins the site's design :-(

11
Hey. im making a template for a website using tables and images as the backgrounds for the cells. however when i put to much text into the main content cell, the page stretches down, leaving whitespace and ruining the design. how can i make it so only the main content cell stretches, and the image stretches along with the cell? Thanks a ton! Here are some images to explain the problem more clearly:

Can't really say without seeing the code. Using tables for layout is not the preferred method. I would suggest that you look into learning CSS and using tables for tubular data only.

Agreeing with create a tableless layout-- see these [1] for some ways to do that.

And create an extemely thin and extremely tall gradient image and set it as the background image to repeat on the x-axis of each container.
