fixed and auto width

Hi

I have a problem which is probably very simple to solve. For example

[HTML]
<div style="width:100%;">
<div style="float:left;width:100%">percents</div>
<div style="float:left;width:100px;">fixed</div>
</div>
[/HTML]

what I want to do is to make 2 columns, 1 is set to width of 100px and other one should take width to fill the other part of screen...

hm, I came to this solution, but I don't know if it's the best one..

<div style="float:left;width:100%;margin: 0 auto 0 -150px;background:#ff0000;">
<div style="margin-left:150px;">a</div>
</div>
<div style="float:left;width:150px;background:#ccc;">g</div>
