hello.
how can i add an icon on top of the page?

Ummmm if you are new to forums you want want to review the posting suggestions at the link below. It will likely help you get better responses. Posts like this are not likely to get much assitance. For example you have posted in the JavaScript forum, but it does not sound like you have a JavaScript question. Also responses can only be as helpful at the details provided. I am guessing there is something specific you are wanting to do, but the post only mentions adding an image to an HTML page.

To try and respond to your question. You can place a JPG, GIF, or PNG image anywhere on a page you want using the HTML <img/> tag. You can google for examples of this. It is something very basic.

On the other hand, you may be talking about a favicon.
