help with browser compatibility

I am quite new to css
My first problem is I have a style which looks ok in IE6 but not in Mozilla

Would welcome some advice as to what causes the discrepancy and what I
should change to make the style the same in both browsers

page is http://www.bloomfield.myby.co.uk/home.htm
which uses css - http://www.bloomfield.myby.co.uk/braeside.css

Many thanks
Martin B.

Note that IE7 has a number of IE6 CSS bugs fixed, but it does
have other problems.
Indeed yes. The backgrounds on the "quickies" section of

seem to be screwed up, unless I've done something wrong that didn't
show up in IE6 or Mozilla or Firefox.
