Display div issue

Hi Guys

Im having a problem with displaying a div on top of other divs in firefox. I'm displaying the div(div_1) from within a td and when the div_1 goes over the top of another div(div_2), div_1 Im trying to display will actually go under the div_2 when it should go over the top of it. Works fine in safari and IE7.

e.g. code

<div>
<table>
<tr>
<td>
<div style="display: block; position: absolute;">show this div</div>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>
<div>
This div will be displayed over the top of the div I'm trying to show
</div>

any ideas on how I can stop div_1 from showing underneath div_2?

I don't understand how you can tell. The text overlaps in both because the div is positioned absolutely. This removes the div from the normal flow. If you give the table a border, you will see that your divs are not even inside the table anymore.
