Help! DIV footer setting for IE and other browsers...

Hi guys , am writing a web page , which a lot of divs.
Everything is fine , but I want to make a footer.
Am not able to do that.

I am using:

div.footer
{
position:fixed;
bottom:0px;
left:0px;
width:100%;
}

for the footer... but not working , IE is nor positioning the footer to down , and neither to left , and also , the width is not set to full too.

Notes:
1.The footer must align itself below every other content , to the bottom of the page , according to screen/window size.
2.The footer must be full width set to the window size
3.The footer must work on IE , Opera mainly

Basically , the footer must be aligned down (bottom of the page) to full width (100%) , according to the screen and window size.

Please help me....

Hi gamernaveen,

The reason your code isn't working is because you are using the property "bottom" which does not exist. "top" does, however, so you could try this:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. div.footer
  2. {
  3. position:fixed;
  4. top:90%;
  5. left:0px;
  6. width:100%;
  7. }
  8.
Not only that but ensure that the <div> in question comes after all your other <div>'s in your code. That way you stand the best chance of it being inline and displaying correctly.

Hope it helps.

Best regards,

"bottom" does exist and is part of CSS.
Position:fixed, however, only works in modern browsers and not IE.
IE also errs and mishandles 'width', treating it as min-width. Of course, min-width doesn't work in IE.
