Horizontal Nested Lists?

20
Hello,

I am trying to get an effect where I use nested lists, but they are arranged horizontally, like so:

Item 1......1.a
...............1.b

Item 2......2.a
...............2.b

Moving the sub-items out to the right is no problem with CSS. I am having trouble moving them vertically, though. I thought I could just float them, but no, they stop just below the main item.

I can apply a negative vertical value (e.g. top:-30px), but that comes with its own issues. For instance, if the text size changes, the position of the sub item in relation to the main item changes as well.

Any tips on how to set the sub items so that they will always begin on the same vertical line with the main item? Seems like it shouldn't be that hard, but I can't figure it out.

Thanks!
