CSS Float IE issues

I am just transitioning to div based layout and love it so far...

I am having a few quirks with IE that I can use some help with.

SAMPLE: http://arenamotorgroup.com/index_comp.html

In IE this div

<div style="float:left; width:264px; background-color:#383838; margin-left:46px; height:400px;">

is floating with a margin larger than 46px and the following div is clearing below it.

1. Why is the margin expanded and 2. can I float right the other div and have them overlap without it forcing to clear the previous element? thanks for any help...
