Print Preview looks fine, but the printed page doesn't

Hi,

I'm trying to solve a little CSS print mystery and would appreciate any suggestions. My pages look just fine when in Print Preview (both IE and Firefox on PC), but in the actual printed pages the left menu is pushed inward and the main content gets wrapped underneath and cut off.

The stylesheet is at http://www.lisc.org/style.css.

I've tried validating the CSS on the W3C site, and the only warnings I get are about setting legible colors and background colors.

I've also tried unsuccessfully to create a separate print.css with the left navigation div set to display:none. However, when I did this, the menu still appeared in the printout, only without any color or formatting (just a straight bulleted list). Anyway, ideally, I'd like to keep the left menu in the print version.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Showing the CSS alone is like showing a coloring book without the black outlines of the figures. You can't always see everything. If the home page of the link you showed above is the page in question, there are 26 html errors, some of which must be addressed.

Point well-taken. I didn't think to validate the HTML, I only ran the CSS file itself. I will work on the HTML errors and see if that solves the problem. Thanks.

Ok, so now I have a page that validates as HTML 4.01 Transitional:
http://www.lisc.org/section/products/loans

Unfortunately, I'm still having the same problem - when I Print Preview everything looks fine, but the printed page looks like this: PDF

The stylesheet is located at:
http://www.lisc.org/style.css

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
