Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I've never had a page be completely broken like this before.

The image file isn't there, because I'm still working things out with the copyright-holder.
On Safari it looks almost fine, except for one problem, that being that the content div doesn't scale the way it should. I'm trying to get it to stretch from the top where it starts down to where the footer bar is. It either overshoots it or is just big enough to hold whatever I put in it. I've looked up a bunch of examples online, and they all do it the same way, which seems to be the way I'm doing it (as far as I can tell).
Second, Firefox won't load the stylesheet. The W3C's CSS validation tool isn't recognizing my style sheet as such, so could this be related? I'm using a Mac but Firefox is on a PC, so could it be a file-encoding thing?
Third, Internet Explorer 7 does basically everything okay but the bar at the bottom won't overlap anything, so it ends up too far down and pushed over to the right so that it doesn't line up with anything. I know IE, even 7, likes to break divs especially, but I'm not sure what to do about it.
I really appreciate any guidance y'all can give me.
