Persistent iframe?

Dear friends,

I am going to work on a church website created with frameset. I am thinking of do away with the iframe, but there is a video embedded in the menu frame, and I don't want to stop or restart the video when people navigate to new pages.

I am not comfortable with putting the main content in an iframe either, since I heard there are problems with printing and so on.

What I can think of is to put the menu in an iframe, but how to keep the iframe from refreshing during the navigation?

I am a true newbie, and only played with a couple of tutorials examples. Hopefully the question makes sense.
