Text & image in a TD

Hello,

I am probably missing something very simple. I have defined a class
containing:

text-align:right;vertical-align:top

and it is applied to a <TD class=... within a table.

In the same TD I want to fit a small picture with the following
alignments:

text-align:left;vertical-align:bottom

So far I did not succeed to align them as I want. What is the best way
to do that?

These aren't simple problems. But we are missing a URL.
I have defined a class
containing:

text-align:right;vertical-align:top

and it is applied to a <TD class=... within a table.
A URL would tell the context and show the effect.
In the same TD I want to fit a small picture with the following
alignments:

text-align:left;vertical-align:bottom

So far I did not succeed to align them as I want. What is the best way
to do that?
So what's the URL of the best effort so far?

How does the image relate to the other contents of the cell, in markup?

Perhaps the picture should be made background image?

Failing that, you probably need to divide the cell using div elements, or
perhaps even split the cell into two cells.

Indeed.
text-align:right;vertical-align:top

and it is applied to a <TD class=... within a table.

alignments:

text-align:left;vertical-align:bottom
text-align for inline elements (as images) is useless. vertical-align
with inline elements refers to the relative position of an element to
the neighboring inline elements.
"vertical align" on Google gives you more than 2,5 million hits. Why not
start reading there? (One hit I picked randomly:
http://phrogz.net/CSS/vertical-align/index.html)
So far I did not succeed to align them as I want. What is the best way
to do that?
Depends. Jukka already pointed out some options.
