Is this possible... :)~

Hello all,

I am new to post so forgive me if I am digging up some old stuff again but I have looked around and can't seem to find a answer.... granted there may not be a answer to my problem..

I have a web page http://home.comcast.net/~actnares/test/ETweathersummaryrevb.htm that we would like to use for storm spotting in the local area for the national weather service.

If have looked at the page it has several different items from a state view of watches warnings to local and national radars. The current design has a META refresh every 5 minutes that reloads the whole page....

I would like to get away from that... is it possible to "refresh or reload " just certain parts of the page? I would like to make the main state view refresh every minute then make the radar on the side refresh every 5 minutes and the other radars reload every 7 minutes.

That way people do not have reload the whole page every 5 minutes as it set up to do now.

I have done some research into something called a IFrame but I am not having to much luck with it.... granted till 2 hours again it was all Greek to me now it's just Geek... LOL

I have tried making some IFrames but they do not seem to fit my table... I am not sure what that is called to say it wants to be view in a full screen instead of the thumbnail I have set up?

Any advice or even help would be welcome at this point.... BTW I believe in credit for design... if you help you will be credited with the design on my site... I hate people who steal others designs!

Thanks alot!

hi moe

try going through ajax, it's perfect for your case
you can very easily reload a part of the page at any interval using this

and try the
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. width:x% height:x%
for putting the Iframes in cells

Thanks for the idea... I have looked AJAX and I am not quite sure what to do...

I have never used this before, anyone have some time to help me develope some code for this or point me to a site that has some code I can see and maybe try to copy and use on my site..?

The width / height I assumming will solve the problem of the scroll bars... GREAT! Thanks for the idea... I am wondering if I should move this post over to the AJAX post...?

Thanks Moe
