page validates but blank page is shown in IE7

I tried to combine some stuff from Eric Meyer and Stu Nicholls to
create a webpage layout.

First try:

http://www.dse.nl/~rodney/index.html

It validates, but for some reason in IE7 only a blank page is shown.
Any help is appreciated (I included the css in the head of the
html=file for convenience).

TIA

Don't have IE7 to test this, but you could try closing the conditional
<style-- looking at the code I reckon IE will think the <bodyis part of
the <style>, and hence think there isn't anything to render !

Check the CSS syntax first, using http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
(It does not affect this issue, since technically it's not a CSS problem at
all - the page is blank on IE 7 even with style sheets disabled.)

Then remove the pseudocomment <!--[if IE] ... -->. The page now displays.

If you really want to use such a pseudocomment, check its syntax; see
