a:after content but images

Hello,

I use a style like "a[rel="external"]:after" to add an image after
external links. It does work. It works too much because I have images
that hold links too. The small additional image that I put after the text
link appears after the images, too.

How can I specify to only use the "after" for the text links ?

I don't want to make separate styles for image links or test links.

Cheers,
