hi,

i had a comment at the top of my html file like this:

and it totally screwed my page. can anyone tell me this is?

take the comment out or move it. Obviously it can't go there.

I assume this is in IE? If you put anything before the doctype in IE, it will go into quirks mode. As stated, just remove that line.

i guess i thought a comment could go anywhere...
and yes it was IE - firefox wouldnt mess up like that...
