z-index drop down list

100+
hi,
I would like to know whether its possible to set the z-index of a drop down list because the menu on my page appears behind the drop down list when it expands.
Tried setting the z-index without much success.

anyhelp would be appreciated.
thanks,
gomzi.

last I ever checked, select menus were not easily or not even possible to set a z-index for. The behavior of a select menu also varied by browser and browser version. More than likely this problem is associated with how form widgets are handled by the operting system and not necessarily the browser but I've never heard/read an explanation.
