Help please, new to css

P: 1
Hey there... I am creating my first site using css for all layout.
It can be found at: www.shopstix.com/av/about/aboutteam.cfm
and css is www.shopstix.com/av/avStyle.css

Two questions,

1) why dont my background colours expand when the content expands (open profiles to see what I mean)

2) how can I achieve the same look without using absolute positioning??

Thanks a mill!!

If you are using absolute positioning, the element is removed from the normal flow which might be why your background color is not expanding (the containing element will not expand to contain it). There is a bug in IE that allows that browser to expand to contain floats and, I think, abs positioned elements but, again, that is a bug in IE.
