Hexadecimal to Color Display

Hello Everyone,

I have not had any luck finding a tool that will:

Shows me the color when I highlight a Hex color code in an HTML source
document.

Are there any utilities that do this?

Thanks in advance,
Dave White

I use <http://sleepyoaks.com/HTML/hex_decimal_color_picker.htm>.

First, select a radio button under the color wheel to indicate to what
the color should be applied (e.g., background, text). Then, insert the
hex code into either the markup below the radio buttons or else into the
appropriate input area to the right. Hit Enter.

You can drag the Brightness slider and the ring marker to change the
color. You will see the selected hex code changing as you do that.

This tool is useful to ensure there is sufficient contrast between
background and text colors and to make sure that the colors for
unvisited, visited, and active links are sufficiently distinct.

Well, if you like that (requires JavaScript, Java, and good eyes), you
might be happy with this page:
http://juicystudio.com/services/colourcontrast.php
In the middle of the page are places to enter BG and FG codes and a
button so you can see how it looks.

And http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html requires JavaScript but also
allows RGB values instead of hex.

Of course, none of the three let you do what the OP asked for: pop up a
color when viewing source code. Sounds like an extension to me but even
looking at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/extensions/ for FF I don't
find anything like want's described. ColorZilla seems not to be it.

I use the trial version of a colour picker tool called YS Elvan (just
google for it) which allows you to just type in the hex value and will
display the colour (and also give the RGB values) plus a wheel of
complimentary, etc. colours. It has the added benefit of a button which
will match to the closest "web safe" colour.

It's not a utility, but it will do what you want. Top Style has a style
inspector, that when looking at source code, will show the color.
