XHTML (id) problem?

P: 29
Iím trying to use XHTML form for gathering data from users and send it back to a server for further processing. The problem is that, according to XHTM specifications Iíve to use (id) attribute instead of name. using id attribute results in no data will be sent to the server. When I replaced id with name attribute to code runs smoothly. In addition, my XHTML file is well defined and headed with the following lines:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1- transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

any help is appreciated.
Cheers

Check out the post at the top of the forum for some doctype info. It's hard to say what the problem is you need to provide the full code that is not working.

Thanks,

You are right, it may not work. See Fragment Identifiers for an explanation but leave the name attribute in.
