correctDate = day(request("mydate1")) & "-" & monthName(month(request("mydate1"))) & "-" & year(request("mydate1"))

day, month, and year functions extract those parts of the date (but I think which part is which is determined by server settings). monthName(month) takes an integer argument and outputs a month name.
