Thanks to all who provided advice and suggestions ... particularly to "
Jim " who showed me an example using DIV and li tags ..using css to
format the li tags to the same width.

I dont have Jim's permission to post his code (I havent asked and I'm
guessing he didnt post for a reason!) but if someone does happen to
want the answer email me and I will help you out.
