html link code

I use macromedia contribute 3.0 to edit my site and I’m hoping someone can please tell me how and where to paste html code within my site. The code is for an affiliate marketing link.

I am not the site administrator as I only edit the basics, so I’m not sure if it’s possible for me to achieve what I’m trying to do. Can this be done only by the administrator?

I am a novice where websites are concerned so where this is perhaps basics to many people, it’s rocket science to me! Lol

Thanks in anticipation.

Could you provide the code and where you want it, or perhaps a link to the site?

It appears that Macromedia Contribute is an editor and ftp program all in one. You may want to go the the "Help" section of the program and read up on it.

Most of us here use a separate editor and a separate FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program to make changes.

I am sure there are other variables that have to be configured in "Contribute" prior to you being able to change anything.

Good Luck

I don't know anything about Macromedia Contributor. I use VS or notepad + smart ftp.

Contribute has no interface for editing the code directly. If you want to insert a link you will have to do it through the on the page editor.

Assuming you've created your connection, browse to the page you want and click "edit page", then highlight the text you want to create a link, right click and select "insert link".
