new features introduced in HTML

I m anu ,new to this site..

Well i have a query related HTML.Can any one please tell me if there are any new features introduced in HTML and they should b validated by w3c.

Do you mean new tags? I believe HTML is pretty much going to stay the same minus the deprecated tags.

The wikipedia page has some useful information including the history of HTML. See in particular the version history which includes links to the w3 pages.

actually i want to know.. like.. we hav to use br tag as <br /> with end tag also for image.. these kind of new things

Those end tags are for Xhtml. Chances are, you are sending everything as html anyway so you have no need for Xhtml right now. But to see the differences between html and Xhtml, look here. Your specific example is answered here.
