CSS tool

Hi,

I was wondering if there are any tools which will show what all a tag
is inheriting. Im working with huge CSS files and its a pain sometimes
figuring out where the background ro font is coming from if i dont
specifically declare it.

Dreamweaver 8. Select a tag and it shows current styles, and breaks
them down into which parents they are inherited from.

Firefox has a "View Formatted Source" extension that does that. Do
Tools->Extensions and search for "view formatted source".

Microsoft's new Expression Web has a free trial for a couple months. After
that it's supposedly $299 or $99 to upgrade from FrontPage (which a lot of
Windows users will have laying around, even if they never touched FP, as is
the case with me). In any case it's less than Dreamweaver's $199/$399 cost

Still early but I find it superior to DW and it's CSS capabilities are
pretty slick. Actually the whole program is pretty slick and if they ever
bother to incorporate PHP functionality into it, would probably stop
handcoding everything for once.

Not surprisingly, it's Windows-only.

http://getfirebug.com/
(okay, you need Firefox first, as it's a Firefox extension, but it's
definitely worth it)
