Hi can anyone tell me why do form objects in a web page require their own unique name?

Hi,

The form objects need their unique names for the following reasons:-
1. To retrieve the data entered in them (normally using asp or php or other server side scripting)
2. To validate data entered in the form (normally using javascript)

These are the two reasons I know. If there are more reasons, please reply to this.

See the objects as you see variables. If you use identical names for differently meant variables, it would be hard to address their contents correctly, wouldn't it?
