Same index page for Subdomain as Main Domain? And with certain fields changed?

4
Hi,

On Yahoo! web hosting, we are able to create subdomains, like:

1. yourplace.me.com
2. myplace.me.com
3. ourplace.me.com

as subdomains of a site, e.g., www.me.com

Qn1.
Would you know how to make the index page of ww.me.com, be the same as the index pages of all the subdomains? Currently, I have to manually copy the entire contents of the index folder and paste it into the subdirectory, which are \yourplace or \myplace.
Is there an automatic way to make the pages of the subdomain be the same set of pages as the main domain?

Qn2.
Might you be able to change a particular field of text in the pages of the subdomains? For example, in:

www.me.com, the welcome message will be: Welcome to me.com!

and in yourplace.me.com, the welcome message will me: Welcome to yourplace!

in ourplace.me.com, it will be, Welcome to ourplace!

Only the welcome message will be changed. The rest of the page, like say the contents, is the same.

I would be ever so grateful for a reply, because I need it for an urgent assignment. Looking forward to your answers.

:) Cheers,
Nex

Question 1:
I don't know how yahoo does things, but check to see if you can do domain forwarding. If so you can make all your subdomains redirect to your main.

Question 2:
Yes you can do that your going to need to learn server side scripting.

Hi Aric,

Thanks for the help!

Would you able to tell me what language to learn to be able to change those variables? Might I be able to google an answer out? If yes, waht do I need to search for? :P

I have tried numerous attempts under google searching under: "changing variables in subdomain", but no results.

Cheers,
Nex
