table background bug in firefox

I have this css trick to change the background of a table to create a rollhover but the image doesnt show at all in Firefox 1.5. Any tips to make it accessible?

<style>
#news a {
display:block;
Height:38 px;
background: url("images/news.png") no-repeat;
text-decoration: none;
}
#news a:hover {
background-position: -50px 0;
}
</style>

then

<TD COLSPAN=2>
<div id="news"><a href="news.htm"></A></DIV></TD>

because your div is blank, there is nothing in DIV.

you can put transparent gif there.

and add this line in css,
float:left;
width:100%;

Are you sure the table row it is in has something to give it height?

Since there is no content if you haven't given the row a height it will autosize to 0 height.

thanks for your help, I dont' know if it's weird but correcting the uppercase on Height, and the spacing it fixed up by itself. Seems to work on firefox
