Target page after Submiting a form

I've created a website using PHP that makes the page look like forms are being used. My problem is that when I submit a form it opens up to a brand new blank page saying "thanks for submitting the form" or whatever I told it to. I want to know how to make the form submit and put the confirmation into the web site design I've created.

Its set up so that each link on the left side navigation bar opens up a page in the middle with the url being index.php?location=blah. When the form gets submitted it goes to blah.php. I need it to open in the same location.

Any suggestions? Sorry if this is confusing. Here is a link to the website
<a href="www.keoland.sheldomar-valley.org">www.keoland.sheldomar-valley.org</a>
so you can see how the site is set up overall.

Then why don't you use the same technique on the thank you page. You are the one that opens the new page.
Could you not implement it like:

http://www.keoland.sheldomar-valley.org/index.php?location=thankyou
