Wouldn't it be better to have the caption in your HTML? That way, the
text of the caption can be seen by search engine robots, it can be
enlarged by users with poor vision, it can be styled and restyled with
CSS, to name but a view advantages.
That's how I do captions. See, for example, my
<http://www.rossde.com/Canada_trip/photos_Vanc_Capilano.html>. And my
captions (and the rest of my pages) are hand-coded, but in Wordpad
instead of Notepad.
Hi
I've been absent a few days in London - just got back. Doing it in
HTML would be welcome but I don't know how. Creating cations or
comments in the manner of the trip to Canada is something i already do
where the pictures are the main thing. I am not offering this web
site as a good example but only as something I've coded
www.italian-heritage-ancoats.org.uk/jgran.htm. Please ignore many of
the comments, I haven't been given them yet. You can see that the
code is simple and I hope it works, but where there is an awful lot of
text as in
www.italian-heritage-ancoats.org.uk/sivdoc.htm the
illustration is to break the monotony and I think that positioniung
the caption if it were separate would be too difficult..
Anyway, I'm willing to learn. The existing illustrations were
captioned using Irfanview. I'm going to try Fireworks tomorrow.
